ABOUT ME

I am an Assistant Professor of Physics at St. Pius X College, Rajapuram, affiliated with Kannur University, Kerala, India. My academic journey has been driven by a passion for understanding the fundamental interactions of matter at interfaces, spanning fields from nanomaterials to biological systems.

Prior to joining St. Pius X College, I worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Zuckerberg Institute for Water Research, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, where I engaged in interdisciplinary research at the intersection of physics, surface science, and biological systems.

I received my Ph.D. in Physics from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, India, in 2016. My doctoral research focused on two-dimensional (2D) materials, particularly graphene and its derivatives, exploring their structural, electronic, and functional properties.

My current research lies at the interface of biophysics and surface science. I am particularly interested in understanding the behavior of biological systems at solid-liquid interfaces, with an emphasis on:

  • Self-assembly and organization of lipid bilayers on solid surfaces

  • Surface fouling and biofouling mechanisms

  • Phage–bacteria interactions and microbial processes

  • Nanoscale characterization of biological interfaces using Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)

Through my research, I seek to bridge fundamental physical principles with biological phenomena, contributing to advances in biomaterials, membrane science, environmental systems, and nanobiotechnology.

Beyond research, I am committed to teaching, mentoring students, and fostering scientific curiosity. I believe that interdisciplinary approaches are essential for addressing complex scientific challenges and translating fundamental discoveries into practical solutions.
